I like making things work. Especially when they can make someone’s day a little easier.
Robotic engineering student. Software engineer intern. Habitual tinkerer.
I'm Jack — a robotic engineering student at UC Santa Cruz (class of 2027) and a software engineer intern at PracticePicnic. I have been building robots on my own since 2018, mostly assistive and enabling technologies: a humanoid robotic arm, an automatic door-unlocking device for a teacher with knee issues, and an unreasonable number of 3D-printed gearboxes.
I'm part Estonian, and I love Estonia — the digital society, the engineering culture, the blue-black-white. Hence the colors of this site.
When I am not in class I am usually printing something, wiring something, or driving around with a solar panel strapped to my car (long story — see Projects).
